The Council, Hong Kong Accreditation Service, the Standards and Calibration Laboratory and the Product Standards Information Bureau under the Innovation and Technology Commission as well as the Government Laboratory co-organised the World Metrology Day (WMD), World Accreditation Day (WAD) and World Standards Day (WSD) Forum 2018. Metrology, accreditation and standardisation are the three important pillars of the quality infrastructure. They often work hand in hand to protect public interests, enhance consumers' confidence in goods and services, foster innovation and competitiveness, and facilitate communications among different parties.

This forum, organised in celebration of the World Metrology Day (WMD), World Accreditation Day (WAD) and World Standards Day (WSD), introduced to participants the roles of the quality infrastructure for the betterment of society.
